Paparazzi

Paparazzi are freelance photographers who pursue celebrities and collect photos and videos of them. Although they are great for the public and media, they may be annoying for the celebrities.

When it comes to celebrities in the news, I would take the side of the celebrities depending on the event being publicized. I think that it would be fine for the paparazzi to get pictures of the celebrity with the celebrity's consent, but when the picture is taken without the celebrity's consent, that is where the line is drawn. For example, if the paparazzi are taking pictures of the celebrity at a public event like award shows, music concerts, red carpets, and many more.

There was one incident where a rap artist attacked a paparazzi and went through 2 years of probation. This man was Kanye West. Kanye denied the charges for the misdemeanour battery and attempted grand theft, so the charges were dismissed. After the altercation, Kanye was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and 30 days of anger management therapy. This is just one example of a celebrity getting annoyed with a paparazzi. I feel like Kanye was right to tell the paparazzi to go away. But he shouldn't have fought the paparazzi, instead just ignore him or find another way to resolve the problem.

There are lines for both celebrities and paparazzi, paparazzi should obey the celebrities and leave them alone some times when they want their own privacy. But even if they don't listen, celebrities don't have the right to "attack" or fight a paparazzi. Violence shouldn't be the way to resolve problems  especially if it is for someone's privacy. To conclude, both a paparazzi and celebrity can do wrong things, there is no right person in general, but it all depends on the situation to truly judge who is right.
